1985-1987年湘潭大学化工系教学秘书;1987-1996年湖南省教育委员会高教处、科技处副主任科员、主任科员;1996-1997年湖南农业大学园艺系任教;1996-2001年日本鹿儿岛大学农学部观赏园艺学研究室留学,获农学博士学位;2001-2004年在鹿儿岛中国经济交流协同组合工作,讲师;2004年至今中科院植物所北京植物园工作。中国花卉协会牡丹芍药分会常务理事,中国园艺学会理事。

主要研究方向:

1、 牡丹芍药种质资源收集保存和系统评价经过8年努力,从国内外引种牡丹800余个、芍药240余个品种,包括牡丹全部6个品种群的资源,成活率达90%以上,建成了拥有资源数量最多的牡丹和芍药种质资源圃。建立了牡丹56个农艺性状数据库和牡丹花芽cDNA文库,获得了2241个EST序列并对其进行了功能注释。

2、 花果色泽表型分析及其形成机制研究花果色泽评价与形成机制研究,是园艺植物品质管理和种质创新的重要科学基础之一。对我国传统名花牡丹、荷花、睡莲等和蓝莓、蓝靛果等20余种花卉、果树植物的色泽表型、色素组成进行了详细调查,为上述特色植物品质育种奠定了科学基础。

3、 牡丹和蓝莓的全株利用牡丹和蓝莓全身是宝。牡丹籽可榨油,牡丹油中不饱和脂肪酸90%以上,其中α-亚麻酸高达40%;花粉可用于前列腺炎治疗药物开发;丹皮是著名的中药原料。目前正在开展牡丹根皮、花粉、花瓣、种籽功能成分分析评价并探索其加工新工艺。蓝莓果中富含防癌、抗衰老、提高视力、改善记忆等优质天然花青素成分,叶中富含对丙型肝炎有显著治疗效果的高聚原花青素。目前主要对中国野生种及150余个引进品种的功能成分进行分析,探索其有效防癌和抗衰老的最佳配方和分子机理。
